Little Crosby, not far from the main area of Crosby, is a small settlement and possibly the oldest Roman Catholic village in the country. The land-owners and squires are the Blundell family, ancient themselves to the area. The quiet, out-of-the-way village has almost a seventeenth century feel. It contains a Roman Catholic church, (St Mary’s), and situated opposite that is the modern St Mary’s RC School. There is no public house. In the Well Barn, an attractive enclosed area, there are various shops and small businesses.
