Sefton Libraries Information Services Department offers a comprehensive range of information sources, including those for local and family history. We have a superb archive of historical photographs, and documents which portray aspects of life throughout Sefton down the years, some going back to the nineteenth century and beyond. We also have a wealth of local history hardcopy sources such as street directories, electoral rolls, and maps.
The service also offers, among other online information sources, the highly popular Ancestry Library Edition. This amazing family history tool can be accessed from our public computers free of charge.
We also offer a research facility whereby our friendly and expert staff will carry research for customers. The minimum fee is £5 for 15 minutes and the maximum fee is £30 for two hours.
In addition, a family history helpdesk is operated on a two-weekly basis by a team of highly-skilled library volunteers.
