Blundellsands, situated on the Sefton coast west of Crosby, began to develop in the 1870s. The area was named in honour of the local Blundell family who owned the land on which it was built. Today, Blundellsands is affluent, and is home to Waterloo Rugby Club and West Lancashire Golf Club. It is well linked by road and two railway stations.
