Comments
The Promenade and sea wall was originally developed in 1834 for coastal protection by the estate owner Sir Peter Hesketh Fleetwood. This new structure supported defences and the towns development. Southport became known as an area for recreation and sea bathing, and during the Victorian era building continued and transformed the town into a seaside resort of style and prominence.
